”Egentlig har jeg gennem flere år ligget skjult i skyttegraven med et skarpladt våben, ventet på det rette moment – nu er tiden kommet."

Så præcist udtrykker 29-årige Niki Bernard tiden op til sin debut-ep DOXY, der udkommer på L.O.C.s label SGMD.

DOXY er ikke som noget andet, man har hørt fra en dansk kunstner. En række numre, der har ligget og ulmet i årevis, hvor Niki Bernard har arbejdet på at perfektionere sin lyrik og sit musikalske udtryk. Nu er tiden kommet til at bæstet slippes fri.

”Konkurrenceknappen er trykket helt i bund på klassisk hiphop-manér, hvor der for mig bliver lagt vægt på noget teknisk or nørdet i form af, at jeg altid bestræber mig på at være den absolut bedste til det, jeg laver”.

EP’en er et sjældent gennemtænkt, sammenhængende og stemningsmættet værk med afsæt i en bestemt idé og et dogme, der løber som en dyb rød tråd gennem sangene og deres udtryk.

”DOXY” kan være slang for en elskerinde – en seksuelt promiskuøs kvinde, der ofte er samlevende med en mand af en vis vigtighed. Det er med afsæt i den betydning af ordet, Niki udtrykker følelser og frustration.

Alt i alt bunder hele lydbilledet/tekst universet i følelser som lyst, drømme, jalousi, svaghed, frustrationer, kærlighed, had, det forbudte, det hemmelige og det spændende.

Helt fra starten har Niki Bernard rappet på engelsk. Han har altid lyttet til amerikansk hiphop. Det dansksprogede har aldrig rigtig fanget ham, og det der driver ham er at udtrykke sig på engelsk. Også selvom det i nogles øjne virker mærkeligt:

”Der er en klar tendens til at folk har sværere ved at tage imod engelsksproget hiphop fra en dansk rapper. På trods af at mange sangere udtrykker sig på engelsk, virker det unaturligt på mange, når en rapper gør det”, fortæller Niki og afslutter: ”Det er jeg her for at lave om på”.

Den 30. Januar 2014 udsendte L.O.C. sit længe ventede album "Sakrilegium".

Efter af have spenderet store dele af 2013 på indspilningerne i Karma Studios, Bang Saray, Graven, København og Sukhumvit, Bangkok - vender L.O.C. nu tilbage med dét, der må betegnes som hans mest ventede album i karrieren.

Sådan siger L.O.C. om sit nye album Sakrilegium. En plade der, i trit med L.O.C.s tekstunivers, ikke fordømmende men blot kold-konstaterende, graver sig gennem dét at begå helligbrøde anno 2014, med sig selv som hovedperson.

"Sakrilegium omhandler min egen, og min samtids tendens til at skænde det hellige. Om det så er i religiøs forstand, eller gennem hvad der bare er blevet vores normale skødesløse adfærd" uddyber rapperen. Eller som det lyder på åbningsnummeret "V.S.S.B.” (vold, sex, stjålne biler); "… Det er svært at hade et røvhul når han ved, at han er det". Modsat tidligere, har L.O.C. i stor grad inddraget sit faste live band i skabelsen af Sakrilegium. En proces der blandt andet er forgået gennem flere måneders kreativt exil i Bang Saray og Bangkok, med bandmedlemmerne Esben Thornhal, producer, Michel Svane, trommer og Daniel Davidsen, guitar. En konstellation, der noget atypisk for en rap plade, er resulteret i et sonisk mix af fuzz guitarer, tunge trommer og et drevet elektronisk element.

Om processen siger L.O.C.: "Isoleret på 16. etage midt i den originale englenes by, lykkedes det os at koge energien og nerven fra scenen ned på lydspor. Et gennemarbejdet album jeg glæder mig ekstremt meget til at præsentere."

Scarred by Beauty, formed in 2006, is a hardcore band from Copenhagen, Denmark. The band released their first Demo in 2008 and in 2009 they released their “We Swim“ EP, which propelled the band forward and won them an award for Talent of the Year at Danish Metal Awards 2009.

In June 2011 the band released their self-financed debut album Sutra via a single album deal through Mighty Music/Target Distribution. Since 2009 Scarred by Beauty has become one of the most touring bands in Denmark, spending more and more time on the road each year.

Scarred By Beauty has toured Europe and UK several times and supported internationally acclaimed artists such as The Black Dahlia Murder, I Killed The Prom Queen, For the Fallen Dreams, Gojira and Meshuggah. In 2011 alone the band completed three European tours, one Danish tour, and in 2012 they, besides touring Europe and UK for two months, made it all the way to China with Danish band The Kandidate, playing a highly successful spot at the Shanghai MIDI Festival. The band also appeared as headlining act on the annual MTV Headbangers Ball Tour in Denmark in the fall of 2012.

In 2012 the band signed a management contract for Scandinavia with Danish 3rd Tsunami Agency. Recently Scarred by Beauty has signed with German based Redfield Records the worldwide release of their second full-length album Cape Zero due August 2013. Furthermore the band has signed for an exclusive vinyl deal with Danish Screaming Records to ensure that Cape Zero also will be released on high quality vinyl.

Scarred by Beauty’s new album Cape Zero, has been produced, mixed and mastered by Jeppe Andersson and Scarred by Beauty themselves and is a testament to the bands capability and work ethic. The music reveals a matured band aware of their distinct hardcore sound and is more easy listening than Scarred by Beauty’s previous releases.

As of now the band is ready for their planned tour activity 2013 that includes festivals in Europe, two European tours and a tour of South East Asia.

The release of Cape Zero in September 2013 along with the band’s intense tour activity will, without a doubt, prove that Scarred by Beauty belongs amongst the international hardcore elite.

Ever so rarely it happens that a new band pops up out of nowhere and everything just makes perfect sense from the get go; the songs, the lyrics, the attitude.
Even the band name could hardly have been better sorted.

RUINED they call themselves and hardcore punk is what it is.

With credentials dating less than 6 months back and their first live show still waiting to happen, the Copenhagen based band needs a firm introduction. Not only is such a band presentation in place but it may also very well help to decipher why RUINED are truly making a musical impact with this their first release.

RUINED consists of Laurits Medom on vocals, Martin O$ on guitar, Jeppe Panzer Skouv on bass and Jeppe Munk Åkesson on drums. Between the 4 members they have collectively released over 10 full length albums and literally played hundreds and hundreds of live shows all over Europe. Once the lineup was installed and the mission set forth everything else fell into place instantly.

With band references such as The Psyke Project, As We Fight, Last Mile, Koldborn and The Hitchcocks the members all bring something special to the mix. And this diversity of references is, by all means, working in the band’s favor.

The style is hardcore – no doubt. But with respectable nods to hardcore punk, metallic hardcore and crust RUINED are creating a solid fusion and a style of their own.

Their debut EP is entitled “RUINED” and offers 6 crushing tracks all recorded live. The lyrical content deals with that of deceit, frustration, anger and not fitting in; thereby offering a perfect backdrop to the stellar, short and uncompromising attacks. It’s hard thrusting as fuck!

The Entombed, in short, is an institution. It’s what put the Swedish metal scene on the map and kept it there for 20+ years.

With a unique approach, challenging song structures and en evolving yet defined sound, the band stands out. Period.

Ranging from the death metal years of the early 1990’s, up through the Death ‘N’ Roll era and even up until recent outings the band continuously sets their own standards.
Therefore; this deluxe project is homage to The Entombed. We are taking one of their classic songs out for a dust off. A revisit if you will. At the same time The Entombed are paying their royal respects.

The “When In Sodom” track captures the essence of The Entombed very well. It’s heavy and immensely riff based while also one of the very first songs recorded without founding member Uffe Cederlund, who departed in 2006 prior to the original EP release. Therefore the “When In Sodom” 5-track EP turned out to be a defining release in terms of how we know and appreciate The Entombed today.
The original tracks to the song were sent to Klaus Hedegaard Nielsen (a.o. of Beta Satan, Marybell Katastrophy fame) who re-mixed and re-mastered the song so that it shows the much needed respect to the original version while being given a proper boost at the same time. It’s been cleaned up and stands out as an organic and timeless outing.
As an extra tip of the hat to “When In Sodom”, Klaus Hedegaard Nielsen composed, recorded and mixed a horror movie inspired rendition of the song cunningly entitled “Sodom Revisited”. The track focuses on the eerie intro with a church choir and organ contributing further to the B-movie thematic much in the vein of Ed Wood.
To top of this 7” The Entombed entered the studio to record a cover of the classic King Diamond song “Welcome Home”. Naturally the band pulls it off fantastically, even with LG hitting the falsetto for a second, and funnily enough it’s actually the first released recordings from the band since the lineup change with Victor Brandt joining the band on bass and Nico Elgstrand switching from bass to guitar.

This silver colored 70 gram 7” slice of heaven is now a distinct part of the The Entombed’s ever growing discography and will surely become a collector’s item before long.

L.O.C. har stiftet eget pladeselskab, SelvGjortMillionærDrøm (SGMD), og første udgivelse er det aktuelle album "Prestige, Paranoia, Persona Vol. 1", der udkom den 23. marts 2012. Uafhængigheden bliver netop nu fejret ved at give musikken væk digitalt i fem uger. Men et fysisk eksemplar af albummet bliver nu materialiseret i et lille vinyloplag! Til at forestå produktionen har L.O.C. licenseret albummet til det danske vinyl-selskab What Happened To The Reason For Screaming Records, der udsender LPen i Danmark mandag d. 21. maj.

Som altid kommer inspirationen til teksterne direkte fra L.O.C.s eget liv og personlige oplevelser. ”"Alt, hvad jeg har lavet, er selvbiografisk. Da jeg var 21, havde jeg hovedet svøbt i fest. Nu er jeg 32 og det er andre tanker, der fylder. Jeg har gjort op med den meningsløshed alt var præget af da jeg f.eks. lavede Libertiner. Og i stedet har jeg valgt at omfavne det umiddelbare, med alt hvad det så ellers fører med sig af storhedsvanvid, paranoia og selvfedme".

"Prestige, Paranoia, Persona Vol. 1" er produceret af L.O.C. i samarbejde med en god håndfuld producere fra både ind- og udland, heriblandt Es (Revoltage, Kasper Spez), Flawless (Wale, Rick Ross), Michel Svane (Marvell Hill), Yung Exclusive og Diamond Style.
"Es har været hovedproducer på pladen, og co-produceret de tracks han ikke selv har smedet sammen, for at give alle sangene synergi. Es har et fedt drive. Vi taler samme sprog og supplerer hinanden ekstremt godt. Han kan lide en lyd, der er hård og ude i hovedet på folk", forklarer L.O.C., der har været executive producer på projektet og haft hænderne langt nede i mikserpulten. På albummet medvirker bl.a. guitaristen Daniel Davidsen og trommeslageren Michel Svane, som mange kender fra L.O.C.s udsolgte koncerter landet rundt. "Jeg har virkelig fået spilleglæden tilbage det sidste halvandet år. Jeg har prøvet mange opstillinger, men er landet ved et rigtig godt hold. Det er helt naturligt, at Daniel og Michel er med, for de kan tilføre albummet det samme, som de giver koncerterne".”

Desuden gæstes albummet af rapperne USO og Westside Connection legenden WC samt Gigolo Jesus og Pernille Vallentin. "Det er endnu et hak i bæltet for mig, at jeg kan gå fuld cirkel og lave en plade hvor de rappere, indlandske som udlandske, der inspirerede mig til at starte med at rappe nu medvirker på et af mine egne albums".

With their sophomore release, "For Better Days" from 2010, the band offered a mature and skilled package which was strongly portrayed in the lyrical content; frustration, bitterness and forfeiture were heavy lyrical themes throughout the release. And where "For Better Days" lets go "Late Nights" picks up...and then adds extra layers galore.

Ever so slowly THE 20BELOWS have developed from being a spit clean pop-punk outfit with all the dogmatics in check into a regular signature sounding alternative punk rock band. On "Late Nights" it quickly becomes obvious that the band has opened up, musically as well as lyrically. Dynamics have taken over and it suits the band nicely. Where the past 2 albums were more strict and uncompromising in their structure this album shows the full potential of the band. Variety is at large here as the most natural band progression thinkable.

The songs deal with angst and frustration but also hope, sentimentality and friendship. THE 20BELOWS haven't exactly gone soft and positive on the world. But then again, Rome wasn't build in one day and it becomes them very well indeed to be reflective and they've come a long way since the beginning.

10 years have passed, along with 2 albums, a small handful of 7"s, numerous compilations and 10+ European/US tours. Standing as probably the most explosive live band on the Danish scene with an undeniable flair for songwriting and an impeccable charm THE 20BELOWS will surely maintain their upward spiral and keep going for another 10 years. So...WE KEEP SINGING!

They’ve been around for over 15 years now and been a household name in Europe for almost as long. Countless prolific tours here and of course in their home country. Their high- octane sound has led to comparisons to bands such as The Supersuckers and the New Bomb Turks, which is only fitting to some extend. Because the fictional, almost toon violent, universe THE TURBO A.C.’s are creating along with their signature surf leads make them stand out from the rest. This combined makes them, by all means, The Champagne of Surf Guitar Punk!

The 10th track on the “Kill Everyone” album is the anthemic “Black Lipstick” which is now xclusively put out as a 7” single with the non-album, never before released, track entitled “The Story”! Not only is this the first international artist put out by Screaming Records, it’s also our very first 7” vinyl. Therefore we have also gone the extra mile and made this extra special.

The lyric to “Black Lipstick” clearly suggests an action packed scene of cartoonish violence and femme fatale! We instantly saw comic book-type sleeve with all the references from the text on the actual cover while keeping it in that specific tone, style and aesthetics related to comic books. This, we certainly think, has been realized through the final artwork done by Sern.dk.

THE TURBO A.C.’s are as fresh as they were when they formed 15 years ago and we’re happy to make part of their on-going history by releasing this 7”. “Black Lipstick” will, without a doubt, make a future live classic – so of course the song needs its very own media too.

We’ve decided to make a 12” Vinyl EP containing 5 songs which will be a kind of a premonition: a sense of things to come. An appetizer of our coming full lenght.
We’ve decided to do this because we’re so incredibly lucky to be part of the NEW ERA TOUR together with mighty Alcoholic Faith Mission this coming fall and we wouldn’t show ourselves with nothing to offer.

Complementarity is perhaps what best describes and defines DEER BEAR. The Ying and Yang parallel is obvious with the members being a seemingly odd couple: The female part is held by Anne Hjort, with a background rooted in the electro-popish. Her male counterpart is Lars Bjørn-Hansen who normally fronts the critically acclaimed death metal band Koldborn, but there’s no death metal in this musical setting, no insisting aggression, no screaming.

Our sound and songwriting, with its introspective and winding down of time character, stand in an appealing contrast to modernity, and one may sense a search for a more traditional insight and organic output.

The style might be labeled as melancholic pop-folk, and while the sound is warm and comforting, the subject matter is far from it. While listening to the acoustic western guitar, the smooth balanced keys and strings, one starts to notice the words of the effortless male and female voices, and the soundscape, reminiscent of an idyllic gentle green lush forest, turns into one of bleak winter-wrapped woods.

Our music, and the words that live in its wake, are nothing but a shelter from the world. Music really can’t do anything else than to postpone suffering: music is the armor of the heart. This is the reason why we make music: to escape and to alleviate.
The songs, we’ve written, are about life and about unwillingly taking part in it from time to time.
The keys, strings, drums, bow strokes and voices come from our hearts and from the winds, trees and oceans on earth as all these things really are one and the same. We open a door to sadness. Sadness is a magnifying glass when used with courage. Open yourself up to it; invite sadness in when it waits on your doorstep, always eager and ready. On the doorstep of your mental house, in which you spend all your life, locked away from everything else; in your House behind the eyes.
Our notes and lyrics will make you open the door, and your dogs in the cellar will cease their barking and your demons will hold their breath, just for a little while.

This record will enable you to gather strength for the days and nights to come, because days and nights roll in endlessly, like waves beating your battered boat. Our lyrics are about many things, but mostly we try to convey melancholic truths. One such truth is that you should treat yourself and others with love and gentleness, because by merely existing, we are already suffering enough.

Music is a way to forget and is the most merciful thing that we can offer.

Already at age 17 the Esbjerg-native took media such as Soundvenue, Gaffa and Bandbase.com as well as national radio DJs like Kjeld Tolstrup and Tony Scott by storm; which among other things resulted in “week’s pick” on radio show De Sorte Spejdere 2 weeks in a row. His take on the Alternative pop genre draws on inspiration from Dust Brothers, “Mellow Gold”-era Beck, Beastie Boys and Peeping Tom and this beautiful schizophrenia has great appeal and explains why GUSTAV FOSS has been so well received already on demo material.
We’re talking an alternative fusion of hip hop, pop and rock and the combination is being delivered with an attitude and brashness that only a youngster with a body full of raging hormones can produce.

The 4 tracks on the ”Give A F***” EP pull the listener in 4 different directions with the common denominator being the melodic approach, the wonderfully provocative lyrics and the impeccable desire to twist the knobs and play with the traditional form and structure.
The incredibly dance-stimulating ”Easy” feeds on GUSTAV FOSS’ ego while having a twinkly distance and a lyrical attitude filled with provocation that sends thoughts to the hip hop scene from back when that was dangerous and confrontational. The shambling, almost Weezer-slacker-ish “Home Run” contains a completely unexpected bridge and stands as a potential summer smash hit with the unforgettable hook. And this song, if any, sums up what GUSTAV FOSS is all about; you don’t talk about a home run – you hit it! The before mentioned playful approach is evident on the EP’s 3rd cut, “Piggy Bank”, that drags the listener to the left and right just within the first minute of the song. Yet it appears strangely coherent and displays the great crossover potential there is between hip hop, pop and straight up rock ‘n’ roll. Last track, however, the eerie “Pleasure Please” does something entirely different with its horror-core meets industrial meets dub expression. With insisting and whispering vocals and gloomy instrumentation you’re being pulled into a universe where getting a solid whipping seems not only mandatory but also pleasurable.

GUSTAV FOSS is waving the pointer and demanding attention with these 4 fantastic tunes also functioning as an appetizer for the full length album slated for a late 2011 release!

The 4 band members emerge from very different musical backgrounds and seemingly that serves the band just right. With past and present bands in various scenes such as death metal, crust punk, pop-punk and hardcore the band is capable of producing both a unique sound and imagery by combining their somewhat different musical influences.
THE HITCHCOCKS started out in early 2006 as a trio having a more punkabilly take on the horror punk genre; at this stage using a double bass. But within a little over a year the band wisely settled for the line-up known today and with a strict focus on the genre they master and perfect – tight melodic punk rock with obvious references to horror punk, old school punk and street punk.
As a live band THE HITCHCOCKS were soon a force to be reckoned with. Highly successful local shows around Denmark reassured the possibility of taking these activities far beyond the Danish borders was as good as any. A short German tour stint in 2007 served as a tester and quickly established contacts all over mainland Europe for future tours.
So in 2008 the band went on a European headliner tour that included Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Austria and Denmark. Important to note is that this was still on the band’s first demo CD put out in late 2007!
That tour raised interest with Denmark’s biggest band, VOLBEAT, who were quick to invite THE HITCHCOCKS to play with them on their sold out national tour in late 2008. A chance unheard of for a demo band and naturally they were quick to jump to the opening.
With their debut album entitled “Blood Will Follow”, THE HITHCOCKCS are now on the prowl, convinced they will take themselves to the next level.
“Blood Will Follow” offers 14+ punk rock anthems, each one perfectly crafted and standout. Filled with aggression, whoa oh backing vocals, genre cross-over references and a lyrical content that draws heavily on the horror comic-book style, THE HITCHCOCKS are creating their own playpen and craving attention!
